About the Teacher
Most of the Mandarin Chinese classes listed below will be taught by Allan, who brings over 20 years of teaching experience in Ottawa. He has taught Mandarin at a variety of institutions, including DFAIT, the Canadian Forces Language School, and Elmwood School.
In addition to teaching, Allan has spent the past two decades working as a translator. His translation work includes publishing a book for Health Canada, translating application materials for CBC/Radio-Canada’s submission to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, and translating or proofreading the simplified Chinese version of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) website and newsletters from 2007 to 2016.
Allan is also a published author, with approximately 30 articles appearing in both Chinese and English journals and newspapers.
