Chinese Courses
- What courses do you offer?
At present, we offer at least nine regular Chinese courses and six HSK preparation Courses for levels 1 through 6, excluding a number of customized courses exclusively for some individuals, families and companies.
- What kind of private lessons do you offer?
The following lessons are also available through Skype, which are ideal and popular for lessons with up to 3 people.
- Private and Semi-Private: One to two students in a class. If you would like to take semi-private lessons, please find a partner yourself.
- Group lessons: If you can form your own group of three or more people, this is right for you. Group discounts are available.
- Family lessons: All family members are welcome. Discounts are available.
- Corporate lessons or workshops: We provide a wide range of Chinese lessons and workshops that are customized exclusively for your employees, including marketing (sales) persons. To save your time and cost, all lessons can be taught in your company.
- How are your Live Online lessons delivered?
Live Online lessons are mainly delivered through Skype. This type of lessons is suitable not only for an individual, but also for a group of students who use their own computer terminals equipped with Skype.
- Do you have any courses for children?
Yes, we have a couple of Chinese courses for kids. Furthermore, we are also able to customize lessons in order to meet students' needs. You are welcome to form your own class, and lessons can be taught at your place or home.
- As a retiree, I want to learn Chinese. Am I too old to learn the language?
It is never too old to learn a new language, simply because age is not the only factor. Every year, we have some new students who are retirees. The oldest among them was 80 years of age when travelled to China after taking private lessons for a year.
- Are there any HSK preparation courses available?
Yes. HSK preparation courses for levels 1 through 6 are available. Group discounts apply.
- Any group discounts are available for university students?
Yes. If you can form your own group with the classmates/friends, group discounts apply for sure. We also offer personalized tutoring and help with your Chinese assignments etc.

- What is the best way to register?
The best way is to email us, so that we would have complete records.
- I have no prior exposure to Mandarin. What course should I sign up?
That is not a problem at all. Any of our beginners' courses would be suitable for you. If you are interested in conversation only, our Conversational Chinese for Beginners would be the best; If reading and/or writing Chinese characters is also your interest, the All in One Chinese for Beginners is good for you to start with; If you like to deal with a wide range of topics, the Crash Course for Beginners would interest you.
- How to determine which course I should take as I learned Chinese before?
Before signing up, please let us know your goal and previous study as much as possible, including the name of the school, and what textbooks you used etc. As such, we can help choose a right course for you.
Venues
- Do your teachers teach at the place of students' choice?
Yes. Please note that extra fees may apply, depending on your location. When inquiring about how much it would cost, please let us know the nearest intersection to your place or home.
- Do you come to our company to offer corporate lessons?
Yes. If you are located in the Ottawa and Gatineau area, we can go to your place to teach. Please email us to discuss.
- I live far from Ottawa and Gatineau. How can I learn the language with you?
The best way is to take our Live Online lessons through Skype.
Payment Methods
- How to make a payment through INTERAC e-Transfer?
If you bank online, you should be able to use it to send money. It is secure and fast. What you need from us is our email address only. Detailed instructions can be found on the website of your bank.
Other Questions
- Do you have gift certificates for sale?
Yes, we do. There are a few templates available for you to choose from, and every gift certificate is personalized in order to meet your needs. Please email us for detailed information.
- I am interested in writing Chinese characters. Where to download the writing sheets (tianzige)?
